Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts are a vertical lift with a platform that’s the same size as the base, on some scissor lifts the platform has an extension as well. They’re great for indoor and outdoor projects, and are a popular choice for contractors who have to lift personnel and equipment
Scissor lifts are great if you need a stable and larger platform that will also provide you with a space to perform work from, but they can only go one direction, up. This means that your work site needs to accommodate the lift directly beneath the area you plan to work with or directly on the side of it.
Another plus for scissor lift is that they are able to carry more weight than other types of lifts. So if you have an easily accessible site that needs heavy lifting, a scissor lift is a great fit.
Telescopic boom lifts
More commonly referred to as cherry pickers, telescopic boom lifts are a good fit for your project if you need maximum elevation and horizontal outreach, especially in areas where space is at a premium, and are often used in industrial and construction sites, but can be used indoors and outdoors.
A cherry picker allows workers to reach up and over equipment and machinery, can rotate 360 degrees.
Articulated boom lifts
Articulated boom lifts are ideal for when you require that Up-and- Over reach, for instance when you have to work over obstacle on the side of a building. They have a wide variety of applications, including indoors and urban projects where contractors have to work at sites where space and access is a luxury.
Because they are so versatile, most articulated boom lifts come in diesel and electric models. Electric models are the obvious choice if you’re working in confined or sensitive spaces where emissions can pose a problem. If you’re looking for a more powerful option, diesel models offer users a bit more power and versatility.
